One of the best sites is undoubtedly Craigslist.org, but there are a number of other sites as well, including Apartments.com or Google Base. This site has a ton of information on gathering details via an online search. Here you can find sites that give you home prices, rental comparisons, and then background information on neighborhoods and schools.
