I think your question comes from the standpoint of the owner right? As in, you own the property and want to list it so others can find it and rent it from you?
If that is the case there are a ton of sites available for you to list with. Some charge (and provide some SEO) and others are free.
You can get your site listed on Web 2.0 (Facebook/Twitter/Myspace) sites as well.

I know about these sites because I've used one or more of them in the past.
It may help you with your endeavor to understand what your future renters are going to need when dealing with you as an owner.
