ie// People claiming unemployment benefit, income support, etc. What does ';DSS'; mean in home rental advertisments - ';sorry no DSS';?
People who are recieving DSS payments (Dept. of Social Security) ie Income supportWhat does ';DSS'; mean in home rental advertisments - ';sorry no DSS';?
department of social services. bnasically no one on the dole. i.e. no scroungers. will probably be problems with bill payments. i should know, have had enough problems with them
Department of Social Security.

Some ';lucky'; people get their housing paid by the Government, because of need. Typically they are less well off, such as newly welcomed immigrants and unmarried mothers and the like.

Hope this helps.
DSS stands for Dept of Social Security and they have their rent paid for them by the social. Landlords don't like this as I suppose they have trouble getting their rent from the DSS.
Department of Social Services , has to do with the rental assistance program..
It means Department of Social Security, but in an rental advert it means that they will will not accept people who have to claim housing benefit, a benefit that pays peoples rent and council tax when there are not at work, so you could say they only will accept people who work. Hope that helps!
Department of Social Security
could be digital satellite service (not really that sure!)
It means no unemployed as DSS stands for Department of Social Security
The DSS hasnt been called that for years, its now the Department of Work and Pensions.
department of social security, i.e. no dole-ites!
Department of Social Security - I've more commonly seen it as ';DHSS';, which was the Department of Health and Social Security (but, then, I'm very old...).

Basically, if you want to rent that home, you have to be employed, and a low risk, i.e, you're not going to trash the place and run away without paying the rent!
It's found in UK letting adverts, and means no people who are receiving social service payments are allowed. Perfectly legal as those receiving social payments are, quite often, drug addicts, social misfits or outcasts and their payments are often made through Social Services, who will not pay as much as is usually wamted. There may be some that are receiving benefit payments for other reasons, such as marriages splitting up, and the wife needing somewhere to stay as there are children, some people will, occasionally, take these. There are many landlords in the UK making a lot of money by renting out to DSS people, as they provide only the minimum of furniture and fittings, and most is second hand.
It means Department of Social Security/ \People on benefits and who usually have little or no money of their own so the landlord is afraid that they might run away without paying their rent. Most landlords prefer people who are working and have a proper income of their own
I forget the exact term, but it's basically Welfare or Public Assistance. However, I think that's illegal in most states to deny that.
Ask a pickie
it means 'drunk sexy s luts'. if anything says 'sorry no DSS' stay away, theres nothing for us in there.
My 'ole ladt has been on scial services for abouy 4 yrs...I cant complain....we are not married. som our food, and ret/ electtric are covered....anyway....social services coveres all expenses...
It means they wont accept anyone on housing benefit
department of social security (used to be department of health and social security) ...social security...thats a laugh for starters!
